Dan has been preparing my taxes for about 11 years. Prior to that, my tax preparers were not CPAs and I firmly believe that this certification is valuable when it comes to preparing taxes. Before tax time, Dan always sends out an easy form to capture information that will facilitate the upcoming returns. When the returns are completed, he provides a complete copy neatly bound and labeled. He is always on top of the latest tax changes and periodically sends out information about this and tax strategies. One thing sets Dan apart from the others, is the personal service he provides. I really feel like he has a personal interest in my tax matters and financial well being. I am comfortable calling him anytime and asking him for information regarding tax consequences in a variety of situations. I once needed a copy of my entire previous year’s tax return (including W2’s) that was lost during a move. Dan was able to email copies of the entire return the following day. This past year I was able to schedule a couple of appointments with him to discuss the tax consequences of selling rental properties. He was able to provide a strategy that would save me the most amount of money with the least amount of tax burden. In addition to the tax information he provided, Dan offered some practical down-to-earth financial advice as well. Over the years, Dan has saved me time and money. About five years ago, before scheduling my regular yearly appointment with him, I decided to purchase a popular computerized tax program. Having used one many years ago, I wanted to see if my refund would be close to his. To my surprise, Dan’s refund amounted to over $1,000 more than mine! He pointed out some deductions that I had overlooked a change in the tax law that was to my benefit, and caught a numerical mistake. I am completely satisfied with his service and would not hesitate in recommending him.
